Love can be expressed in many different ways: It manifests in the couple’s individual personalities, in the way they fit together to build a happy routine, and even in the way these two people now share their dreams.

things to avoid
You know that super funny story about the groom drinking and passing out on vacation? Or that nickname from High School that the bride isn’t very fond of?
We know it may sound obvious to warn about this, but we often witness the well-intentioned best men embarrassing the couple because they were trying to be funny.
To be on the safe side, save the jokes for the party and choose the most beautiful and moving stories you can think of for the ceremony.

be yourself
Don’t worry about delivering an “eloquent performance”. Instead, just be yourself, the person they love and chose to bring joy to the ceremony.
If you feel like crying or even laughing, let the emotion take over! The most important thing is the beautiful memory you are making together. Don’t forget that, not even for a second!
less is more
Don’t worry about a long speech: The ideal length is about a page long – this way you won’t have to hold on to several sheets of paper when it’s time to speak!
If you use narrow margins and the Arial 16 font, a full page is just the right length.
However, keep in mind that these rules are not set in stone: Less is more, and a beautiful 10-line paragraph can be more than enough to make the bride and the groom very happy about your speech!
put it in writing
Even if you are used to public speaking and prefer speaking from your heart rather than reading the speech, we recommend you also put it in writing – if nothing else, it can be reassuring to know you covered all your bases in case the text slips your mind.
